- If you were notified by your employer or attorney that an email notification has been received, that means your petition was selected in the lottery. USCIS only sends notifications to those that were selected.
- If you were notified that your employer or attorney received a receipt notice in the mail, that means your petition was selected in the lottery. USCIS only sends receipt notices to those that were selected.
- If you were notified that your filing fee checks paid to Department of Homeland Security were cashed, that means your petition was selected in the lottery. USCIS only cashes checks when the petition is selected. If not selected, they return the checks back to the employer or attorney.
