3months time recommended by most universities
Hi,
I want to apply for Pre-OPT starting from 1st June. I am going to use my last CPT till 31st of May and 1st June onwards Pre- OPT. I have submitted all the necessary application form to IPS(International Program Services) and waiting for them to issue me the new I-20 for pre OPT. One of the advisors from IPS said you are applying for an irreverent starting date; there is no way you can get your EAD card by 1st June. She said you will probably get it by 15th July. I don’t think my employer will wait for one and half month.
What should I do in this case?
Can any one please suggest me what additional documents I should attach in my pocket so I’ll get my EAD card on time?
Is there any way to expedite the processing of my I-765?

The best you can do is attach the offer letter with start date from the employer with your OPT application.
There’s nothing else you can do to expedite the process since they won’t accept expedite request within 90 days.
The standard time frame is 2.5-3 months and I got mine within 45 days.

I got my Pre-OPT Application approved in 1month by sending my offer letter and calling them and requesting USCIS to expedite the process and telling them how it is a financial loss to me and the company and the internship can be only done in the summer and I cannot work after that as classes start.
